Meritt Emery is among the most successful student-athletes ever at LCA. She was a member of the Girls' Tennis Team from 2004-2007 and won three consecutive state singles championships from 2004-2006. She was a member of the KHSAA All-State team from 2003-2007, along with being named a National High School Tennis All-American in 2006. She is the only player to ever play in 5 KHSAA state tennis finals (2 doubles and 3 singles), along with one of only six players to win six state singles championships in state histroy. 

Upon graduating from LCA, she went on to play tennis at the University of Alabama where she was selected to the SEC All Academic Team, and the ITA All Academic team. She was also awarded the SEC Community Service Award in 2009. Meritt's legacy centers around her Christian spirit, her unwaivering faith, and her absolute willingness to put others in front of her.

In 2015, Emery returned to LCA as an assistant coach under Kyle Macy.
