LCA Wins 2017 Central Bank Jim Rose Classic

The basketball team hosted the annual Central Bank Jim Rose Classic this week heading into the new year. And they did so in grand style.

In the first game, the Eagles took down Letcher County Central 78-42 behind a complete effort. Senior Austin Hall led the way with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Junior Kyle Rode made his return to the lineup after injury by pouring in 17 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Senior Carter Hendricksen chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Junior Will Hacker had 12 points and 6 rebounds.

The following night the Eagles faced Madisonville North Hopkins and came away with a 69-46 victory. Carter Hendricksen erupted for 32 points and 7 rebounds. Hall had 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Rode had 12 points and 9 boards.

The Eagles then faced Conner in the championship game. LCA came out blazing fast and never looked back, taking the crown 83-56. Austin Hall scroed 30 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Hendricksen had 25 and 9. Kyle Rode posted another very complete game by scoring 14, grabbing 8 boards and dishing out 6 assists.

Hendricksen was named MVP for his efforts, while Hall and Rode were also named to the All-Tournament Team.
