The Eagles' boys soccer team defeated Madison Southern last night on an always-emotional Senior Night. The pre-game festivities saw the program send off six seniors from this year's squad. Though they have one more home game left, the cermony is always a time to remember and look ahead.
After the pre-game, the Eagles got down to business taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. MSHS scored 10 minutes in to the second half to tie it, be fore LCA again regained the lead on a shot into the lower right corner of the goal by Roman Casper.
Madison Southern did not quit and scored quickly to again knot the score at 2 goals apiece. But the Eagles struck again with about 4 minutes left off a sharp cross. They closed out the final minutes to win 3-2 and send the seniors, and all Eagle fans, home happy.
The win bumped the Eagles record to 6-6-2 on the season.
The Eagles will once again be at home tomorrow night when they take on Corbin at Turner Field. Junior Varsity will play at 5:30, with the Varsity taking the field at 7:30pm. The Eagles will then head into district play next week at Lafayette HS Monday night.
